The list contains fast and spin bowlers from the one-day international cricket game. These best bowlers are listed in order of their amount of ODI wickets.

These are the outstanding bowlers who have taken the most wickets in one-day internationals. That is why they are always regarded as the greatest wicket-takers in cricket history.

10. Sanath Jayasuriya (ODI Wickets-323)

Sanath Jayasuriya is the greatest ODI player in cricket history. Only one player in ODI history has taken more than 300 wickets and scored more than 13430 runs. His all-rounder performance earned him the title of most valuable player in the 1996 Cricket World Cup, and Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack ranked him one of the top five cricketers of 1997.

Last but not least, he ranks tenth on our list of the top ODI wicket-takers. In 445 One-Day Internationals, he collected 323 wickets. Sanath Jayasuriya retired from limited overs cricket in June 2011.

9. Anil Kumble (ODI Wickets-337)

Anil Kumble was the Indian cricket team’s right-hand leg spinner. He has the record for taking ten wickets in a single inning of test cricket. He was always a headache for the opposition batsmen.

Kumble is one of the most successful Indian cricketers of all time, having taken 337 wickets in 271 One-Day Internationals. This top Indian leg spinner’s bowling style is similar to that of Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi.

9. Brett Lee (ODI Wickets-380)

Bret Lee is a former Australian cricketer and one of the quickest bowlers in history. After Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar, he was the world’s second quickest right-hand bowler. He was well-known as an agile defender and a useful lower-order batter.

Akhtar got 380 wickets in 221 ODIs, ranking eighth all-time. He announced his retirement from all formats of cricket in January 2015, bringing an end to his illustrious cricketing career.

7. Glenn McGrath (ODI Wickets-381)

Glenn McGrath is a former Australian international cricketer who now works as a cricket pundit for Channel Nine. He was a fearsome fast bowler and one of the most successful Australian cricketers of all time. He was known for throwing yorkers and causing trouble for challenger batters in the early innings.

McGrath grabbed 381 wickets in 250 ODIs, making him one of the most prolific ODI wicket takers.

6. Shaun Pollock (ODI Wickets-393)

Shaun Pollock is a retired South African cricketer who also serves as the team’s bowling all-rounder. He led the South African cricket team as captain from 2000 to 2003. He has the ability to deliver a faster ball with accuracy as a fast-medium seam bowler.

Shaun Pollock is one of South Africa’s most successful cricketers, having taken 393 wickets in 303 One-Day Internationals. As a result, he remains No. 6 on our list of the top ten highest ODI wicket-takers.

5. Shahid Afridi (ODI Wickets-395)

4. Chaminda Vaas (ODI Wickets-400)

He is widely considered as the most effective and successful new-ball bowler Sri Lanka has ever produced. In addition, during the 2005 ICC awards, he was chosen for the World Test team as well as the One-day XI.

Chaminda got 400 wickets in 322 ODI matches, ranking fourth in the ODI format. He retired from international cricket on August 27, 2008, with the ODI against India, after a 14-year career.

3. Waqar Younis (ODI Wickets- 416)

Waqar Younis is usually regarded as the finest and best fast bowler in cricket history. He is currently coaching the Pakistan cricket team. This Pakistani fast bowler is the team’s youngest captain. His career spanned 1989 through 2003. He could reverse swing a cricket ball at extraordinary speeds.In 262 One Day Internationals, he collected 416 wickets.
