Early Life: – Jennifer Connelly Wiki was born in the Catskill Mountains of New York in Cairo. She is the daughter of antique trader Ilene and garment producer Gerard Karl Connelly. Her father was an Irish-born Catholic. Connelly’s mother was Jewish and attended a yeshiva; her maternal great-grandparents were all Jewish immigrants from Poland and Russia. Connelly was up mostly in Brooklyn Heights, near the Brooklyn Bridge, where she attended Saint Ann’s, a private art school. Because her father had asthma, the family relocated to Woodstock, New York, in 1976, to avoid the city haze. Connelly returned to Saint Ann’s School four years later after the family returned to Brooklyn Heights.
