Rohit Sharma Career
Career: – In March 2005, Sharma made his List A debut for West Zone versus Central Zone in the Deodhar Trophy at Gwalior. He batted at number eight and scored 31 not out as West Zone won by three wickets with 24 balls to spare. In the same game, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ravindra Jadeja made their debuts.
In the same event, Sharma’s undefeated innings of 142 in 123 balls against North Zone at the Maharanna Bhupal College Ground in Udaipur thrust him into the spotlight. He travelled to Abu Dhabi and Australia with the India A team before being included to India’s 30-man probables list for the forthcoming ICC Champions Trophy event, however he did not make the final selection.
Sharma made his Test debut against West Indies in November 2013, during Sachin Tendulkar’s farewell series, and hit 177, the second-highest total on debut by an Indian after Shikhar Dhawan (187). He followed it up with a 111 (not out) in the second Test at his home ground, Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. Sharma, who had been out of the Test team since 2017-18, was called up for the 2018-19 tour of Australia.
The rationale for his comeback, according to chief selector M. S. K. Prasad, was that his natural game suited the bouncy Australian wickets. Sharma scored 37 and 1 in the first Test in Adelaide, leading India to victory. He had a slight injury during the first Test, forcing him to miss the second Test in Perth.
He recovered in time for the third Test on Boxing Day in Melbourne, when he hit 63 (not out) to help India amass 443/7 and win the both Test and the series. Sharma had to return to India after the third Test due to the birth of his daughter.
Sharma was a member of India’s team for the 2007 ICC World Twenty20, when he made an impression with an unbeaten 50 off 40 deliveries against hosts South Africa in the quarter-finals. India won the match by 37 runs, and they went on to defeat Pakistan in the final, with Sharma scoring 30 (not out) off 16 deliveries. Sharma hit 106 in the first Twenty20 international in HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala on October 2, 2015, during South Africa’s tour of India. With that, he became only the second Indian cricketer to score century in all three international forms
