Saeed Ajmal Biography

Former cricket player and current cricket coach he represents Pakistan in all facets of the sport. He bats right-handed and bowls off-spin with his right arm. He played for Faisalabad, for whom he won the 2005 ABN-AMRO Twenty-20 Cup, Khan Research Laboratories, and Islamabad at the local level in Pakistan. Ajmal played his first Test a year after making his One Day International debut for Pakistan in July 2008 at the age of 30.

He was accused of having a questionable bowling motion in 2009, but after being exonerated, he assisted Pakistan in winning the ICC World Twenty20 that year. 2011 saw Ajmal participate in domestic cricket in England as an international player for Worcestershire. Ajmal was recognized as the best ODI bowler by the International Cricket Council from November 2011 to December 2014. While his greatest Test rating was second between January and July of the same year, he achieved the same position in T20Is between October and December of the same year.

Along with Clarrie Grimmett, Dilip Doshi, and Ryan Harris, he is one of four Test bowlers who made their debut beyond the age of thirty and have taken more than 100 test wickets.

Saeed Ajmal has played for Faisalabad since his debut in 1995 at the age of 18. He has participated in 35 Test matches and taken 178 wickets at a strike rate of 65.12. In an inning against England in the UAE, he had the best performance of 55/7. He has taken 184 wickets in 113 One Day Internationals while averaging 4.18 runs per over. His 24/5 performance against India in Delhi was his best. His stellar T20I record of 85 wickets from 64 games at a 16.8 strike rate is impressive.
