2017–2018: – Sahal’s performance in the 2017 Santosh Trophy caught the attention of Kerala Blasters scouts, who signed him to his first professional contract and placed him on the reserve team for 2017-18 I-League 2nd Division. He was named captain for the remainder of the season in the fourth match against FC Kerala.

He scored seven goals in ten games to finish third in the league in scoring. As the senior side struggled for points during the 2017-18 ISL season, manager René Meulensteen chose to promote certain young players to the senior team, including Sahal Samad wiki.
