Who is Sarojini Naidu?

She was a political activist, feminist, and poet. She was the first Indian woman to be president of the Indian National Congress. She was the eldest daughter of Aghorenath Chattopadhyay, a Bengali Brahman who was principal of the Nizam’s College, Hyderabad.Her mother was Varada Sundari Devi. At the age of twelve, she entered the University of Madras and studied (1895–98) at King’s College, London. Later, she studied at Girton College, Cambridge.

In 1898, she came to Hyderabad and the same year married Govindarajulu Naidu. He was a physician.
