Shivshankar began his career as a print reporter in the mid-1990s, pounding the streets and then Delhi’s courtrooms for stories. He was a member of the Headlines Today launch team in 2003 and quickly accepted the role of lead writer. He oversaw the newsroom at Headlines Today, where he also served as executive editor.

Shivshankar used to host Headlines Today’s News Night at 8 p.m. He was praised for his coverage of the 2008 Mumbai attacks, for which he contributed to a book.
